#14-Potential Impacts of Accelerated Sea-Level Rise

on Developing Countries (1995) [Nicholls & Leatherman]

alt

-Sea level rise is a major topic of discussion among coastal researchers. For developing countries, the potential impacts could be very detrimental. This JCR Special Issue focuses on many of these important impacts, which include increased coastal erosion, higher storm-surge flooding, extensive coastal inundation, and loss of cultural resources. Specifically for developing countries, whom greatly depend on coastal agricultural systems, the lasting effect can be devastating. Dr. Stephan P. Leatherman, Director of the Laboratory for Coastal Research at Florida Atlantic University, served as one of the guest editors for this insightful Special Issue.
